While I am still not convinced about the concept of pre collections I love Valentino's pre-Fall 2013 collection which designers Chiuri and Piccioli say is inspired by couture techniques.
The collection has a sense of romance to it which is typical of the brand however this collection certainly has a slightly tougher and crisper edge to it with PVC detailing and clean silhouettes. It is also possible to see 70's influences coming through in the accessories, capes and frill detailing which can also be seen in Saint Laurent and Gucci's SS13 collections. In terms of colour the collection is decidedly darker than much of the houses work however my favourite pieces such as those above are in a palette of white, pastel pink and rich wine tones. I love the wine tones so much and I always find that plum and burgundy are great go-to's for the chillier months.
One of my favourite pieces from the whole collection is the burgundy silk gown with sweetheart neckline, sheer bodice and crisp white collar which would look stunning on Valentino's leading lady Anne Hathaway!
